Monday, September 16th - Dr. Ricardo Nazario y Colón, Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Vice Chancellor of DEI for the SUNY System, will visit SUNY Oswego to kick off ALANA and Latino Heritage Month celebrations hosted by Latino and Latin American Studies and the ALANA Multicultural Leadership Conference. Join Dr. Nazario y Colón as he shares his perspective on ALANA's theme and engages with student leaders in a Platica at 5 PM in the Penfield Library.

Tuesday, September 17th - Constitution Day Program focused on Student Activism. Members of the ALANA Planning Committee are collaborating with Vote Oswego and the University's Civic Engagement Coalition to host this interactive program. (Further details TBD).

Wednesday, September 18th - Open Political Dialogue hosted by the Civic Engagement Coalition and the Oswego Dialogue Project at 4:30 PM in the MCC's Laker Lounge.

Thursday, September 19th - Keynote Speaker, Ebone Bell in collaboration with "I Am Oz" will be engaging our campus community with her presentation "Level Up Leadership" in the Sheldon Hall Ballroom at 7 PM. This is a free event, however a ticket is required from the Box Office.

Saturday, September 21st, On the International Day of Peace at 11 AM the ALANA PEACE Walk will take place. The PEACE Walk will be starting at Oswego's City Hall and concluding at the Marano Campus Center. At the conclusion of the PEACE Walk there will be a closing program in the MCC Auditorium at approximately 12:30 PM where the Presidents of the Power 5 Multicultural Student Organizations will share their perspectives on ALANA's theme, this will be followed by a closing reception.

The Asian Student Association exists to involve students in Asian culture, as well as to provide an Asian/Asian-American community to SUNY Oswego. We offer students opportunities to learn about different aspects of Asian cultures in interactive programs hosted biweekly. Examples of these educational experiences include Asian regional ethnic studies and DIY cooking and art. We also provide resume-building opportunities such as an Executive board committee implemented in our organization. We occasionally host special events on campus to encourage the SUNY Oswego community to become involved with Asian cultures, such as annual holiday celebrations or festivals. We also will implement a dance subgroup within the association to have a creative output to the Asian Student Association. These activities within the Asian Student Association give the students an interactive break from their regular school routine but also encourages continued learning along the way. The organization's community will provide
the chance for students to learn from each other and build relationships and networks. The Asian Student Association will also collaborate with other ALANA organizations to further strengthen cultural relationships throughout the campus community.

The chemistry club is an academic organization primarily dedicated to giving students assistance with their chemistry club by offering free tutoring. We are also an affiliate of the ACS (American Chemical Society). A nationally reorganized organization in the science fields. The Chemistry club also tries to bring a social environment where students and professors can mix on the same level. The purpose of the proposed new student organization is to provide and show students the fishing opportunities in and around SUNY Oswego. This will allow for them to be able to network with fellow fisherman and share their passion. In addition, the fishing club will educate them on feeding habits of fish and how to increase their catch rate while fishing and enjoying the outdoors.
The organization will help in showing students how a fishery is an ecosystem that needs to be respected and sustained, especially within the cold-water salmonid fisheries around Oswego.
Things that will be learned on the water include, but are not limited to, holding areas of fish and why they hold there, respecting redds (spawning areas for salmonids) and sensitivity of fish.
Through these on the water teachings, the organization will educate its members on environmental quality, especially within water quality in local bodies of water such as the Oswego and Salmon Rivers.
The goals and objectives of the club are to provide its members with an opportunity to learn and/or improve upon their fishing skills, techniques, and spot selection. Other goals include learning new things within the fishing sport, such as how to improve catch rates and how to not
fight a fish to exhaustion.
The fishing club veers off from most other organizations on campus, as it is a recreational sport not already in club form on campus. The closest club is the Outdoors Club, which the fishing club would be very different from because it would provide solely fishing information and activities that are not available via the Outdoors Club, which goes on things like hikes. The fishing club provides a new opportunity to those students interested.

The mission of the State University of New York at Oswego ("SUNY Oswego" or "the College") Investment Club ("the SOIC") is to expand the educational experiences available to its students members by managing an investment portfolio (the "fund"). The purpose of the Judo Club is to provide a safe and enriching environment for students to learn and train the renowned martial art known as Judo and grow as both a student and a martial artist. Students who attend will learn the safe and correct way to practice the art of Judo which not only may offer them self-defense in their personal lives but teach them the values and principles that practicing such an art embodies.
In close observance of Kodokan Judo and the Bushido Code, members will develop skills in practice of the martial art, comradery with their training partners, and will strive for humility,

The objectives of Octavia are to offer a different form of music to the students and to the community, to encourage students to collaborate with their peers on tough musical compositions, and to provide an exemplary performance to their audience whenever they perform. In 1897, 10 senior students, two faculty members and the University of Maine president created a new kind of honor society, one that recognized excellence in all academic disciplines covering a wider range of students than any other honor society in existence at that time.

Under the leadership of student Marcus L. Urann, who created the bylaws and constitution for the organization, the group formed the Lambda Sigma Eta Society. Upon Urann's graduation, the school's president Abram Harris led the way for promoting the Society.

In 1900, the Society was renamed Phi Kappa Phi from the letters of the Greek words forming its motto, Philosophía Krateítõ Phõtôn, "Let the love of learning rule humanity." The group also gained support from the presidents of Pennsylvania State College and the University of Tennessee to expand into a national organization.

Today, the Society has chapters on more than 325 campuses in the United States, its territories and the Philippines. Its mission is "to recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and engage the community of scholars in service to others."

Rice Creek Field Station's mission is to be a living laboratory for the advancement of knowledge through research, education, and stewardship of the natural world. The Rice Creek property includes over 350 acres of natural habitats, 5 miles of trails, a creek and pond, an astronomical observatory, and a state-of-the-art green building. Located one mile south of the main campus and accessible by the Green Route campus bus, we provide opportunities for students to engage with the natural world through classes, programs, jobs and internships, service opportunities, research, and recreation.

Students Helping Oz Peers —or SHOP for short—opened its pantry in October 2016 as the first student-run food and clothing pantry within the SUNY system. SHOP is a collaborative effort between on and off campus partners who recognize the need to address food insecurity on our campus.
