The Asian Student Association exists to involve students in Asian culture, as well as to provide an Asian/Asian-American community to SUNY Oswego. We offer students opportunities to learn about different aspects of Asian cultures in interactive programs hosted biweekly. Examples of these educational experiences include Asian regional ethnic studies and DIY cooking and art. We also provide resume-building opportunities such as an Executive board committee implemented in our organization. We occasionally host special events on campus to encourage the SUNY Oswego community to become involved with Asian cultures, such as annual holiday celebrations or festivals. We also will implement a dance subgroup within the association to have a creative output to the Asian Student Association. These activities within the Asian Student Association give the students an interactive break from their regular school routine but also encourages continued learning along the way. The organization's community will provide
the chance for students to learn from each other and build relationships and networks. The Asian Student Association will also collaborate with other ALANA organizations to further strengthen cultural relationships throughout the campus community.

The chemistry club is an academic organization primarily dedicated to giving students assistance with their chemistry club by offering free tutoring. We are also an affiliate of the ACS (American Chemical Society). A nationally reorganized organization in the science fields. It is not mandatory for any student to be a member of ACS because there are dues involved, however we do strongly encourage it. The Chemistry club also tries to bring a social environment where students and professors can mix on the same level. Clay Bodies is an organization comprised of students interested in both the craft and fine art quality of ceramics as a hobby and a passion of life. As ceramic artists, we cherish our medium because it comes purely from the Earth. We are able to manipulate our medium and adorn it with decoration of glazes and mixed media.
The group's primary focus is to actively continue to gain knowledge of the ceramic arts while creating and developing new pieces. There is an emphasis on contemporary criminal justice topics and their relation to criminal justice policy. Our organization was formed to educate the Oswego and related communities on the criminal justice system and to provide insight and support for post-graduate career opportunities. The organization's overall mission is to strengthen community ties through a better understanding of the criminal justice system.
We stand on transparency and justice and voicing the inequalities that exist throughout the entirety of the criminal justice system. The purpose of the proposed new student organization is to provide and show students the fishing opportunities in and around SUNY Oswego. This will allow for them to be able to network with fellow fisherman and share their passion. In addition, the fishing club will educate them on feeding habits of fish and how to increase their catch rate while fishing and enjoying the outdoors.
The organization will help in showing students how a fishery is an ecosystem that needs to be respected and sustained, especially within the cold-water salmonid fisheries around Oswego.
Things that will be learned on the water include, but are not limited to, holding areas of fish and why they hold there, respecting redds (spawning areas for salmonids) and sensitivity of fish.
Through these on the water teachings, the organization will educate its members on environmental quality, especially within water quality in local bodies of water such as the Oswego and Salmon Rivers.
The goals and objectives of the club are to provide its members with an opportunity to learn and/or improve upon their fishing skills, techniques, and spot selection. Other goals include learning new things within the fishing sport, such as how to improve catch rates and how to not
fight a fish to exhaustion.
The fishing club veers off from most other organizations on campus, as it is a recreational sport not already in club form on campus. The closest club is the Outdoors Club, which the fishing club would be very different from because it would provide solely fishing information and activities that are not available via the Outdoors Club, which goes on things like hikes. The fishing club provides a new opportunity to those students interested.

In 1897, 10 senior students, two faculty members and the University of Maine president created a new kind of honor society, one that recognized excellence in all academic disciplines covering a wider range of students than any other honor society in existence at that time.

Under the leadership of student Marcus L. Urann, who created the bylaws and constitution for the organization, the group formed the Lambda Sigma Eta Society. Upon Urann's graduation, the school's president Abram Harris led the way for promoting the Society.

In 1900, the Society was renamed Phi Kappa Phi from the letters of the Greek words forming its motto, Philosophía Krateítõ Phõtôn, "Let the love of learning rule humanity." The group also gained support from the presidents of Pennsylvania State College and the University of Tennessee to expand into a national organization.

Today, the Society has chapters on more than 325 campuses in the United States, its territories and the Philippines. Its mission is "to recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and engage the community of scholars in service to others."
