By means of membership in the Mu Iota Cast of Alpha Psi Omega we desire to recognize students for their worthy effort and appreciation in and of the dramatic arts, and provide opportunities to enhance the knowledge of dramatic art.

Mission
Omicron Delta Kappa was chartered on the SUNY Oswego campus in 1995. Our members are academically in the top 35% of the college and have been actively engaged in leadership on campus . We seek members who excel as students and as leaders in student organizations, residence life, academic settings, peer education, athletics, the arts and community service. As a Circle member of Omicron Delta Kappa, you have access to a nationwide network of leaders in industry, academia, and community agencies. We expect members to maintain high standards of academic success, community service and involvement in leadership.

This year’s application is now open! We encourage you to apply if you enjoy service, and are a leader on campus or in your community, in one or more of the following areas: athletics, arts, community service, music/theater, peer educators, RA, or student organizations. To be considered you must be a current sophomore, junior, or senior and in the top 35% of your class. As a member, you will be expected to attend regular member meetings (currently once a month --- but subject to change the following year), maintain high academic status, and engage in the leadership and service events we host (two held each semester). When applying, make sure to select the Oswego circle, which may be listed under "SUNY Oswego." Please note: If offered to join our circle, there is a one time National Initiation Fee of $94, however no payment is due at the time of application. The application deadline is March 30th, 2025. In 1897, 10 senior students, two faculty members and the University of Maine president created a new kind of honor society, one that recognized excellence in all academic disciplines covering a wider range of students than any other honor society in existence at that time.

Under the leadership of student Marcus L. Urann, who created the bylaws and constitution for the organization, the group formed the Lambda Sigma Eta Society. Upon Urann's graduation, the school's president Abram Harris led the way for promoting the Society.

In 1900, the Society was renamed Phi Kappa Phi from the letters of the Greek words forming its motto, Philosophía Krateítõ Phõtôn, "Let the love of learning rule humanity." The group also gained support from the presidents of Pennsylvania State College and the University of Tennessee to expand into a national organization.

Today, the Society has chapters on more than 325 campuses in the United States, its territories and the Philippines. Its mission is "to recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and engage the community of scholars in service to others."

Recognizing and promoting excellence in the science and application of psychology Psi Chi is an international honor society whose purpose shall be to encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship of the individual members in all fields, particularly in psychology, and to advance the science of psychology.

The objective of this society shall be to recognize those Junior and Senior students who have shown service, scholarship, and leadership in their college endeavors, and to promote these qualities on campus. Vega: Junior and Senior Honor Society is open to any and all students regardless of race, color, national origin, or sex, and is consistent with all current governing federal and state nondiscrimination law.
